What is Medical Aesthetic Treatments?

As we age, our skin loses collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid causing the formation of lines and wrinkles. The bones, muscles and fat pads also change, affecting facial shape and volume. Whenever we laugh, frown or make facial expressions, our facial muscles contract and cause “dynamic wrinkles”. When we are young, these wrinkles resolve when we relax the muscles. However, as we age, these wrinkles become increasingly pronounced and prominent.

Volume and contouring medical aesthetic treatments are used to relax specific facial muscles, effectively winding back the clock, giving you a younger and more refreshed appearance.

What are the treatments like?

During a consultation with our Cosmetic Physician and Registered Nurse we will decide on a desired outcome that you are comfortable with. Once this is clear we will schedule a treatment.

Most volume and contouring medical aesthetic treatments take around 15 minutes, and they can even be performed during your lunch break. Pain is minimal as a topical anaesthetic cream is applied. We also have lignocaine mixed into the product, thus ensuring pain being kept to a minimum.

Results

Instant results and continue to plump in the days following treatment. The effects of the volume and contouring medical aesthetic treatments are long lasting but not permanent (usually between 6 to 18 months, depending on the thickness of product). A recent study showed that these treatments can last up to 18 months with just one top up treatment.
